Empowering Future Leaders: Studio One Dance Center's Collaboration with Taking Shape

In 2015, the Taking Shape non-profit organization was established with a powerful mission – to cultivate young leaders Here, Near, and Far. Studio One Dance Center proudly collaborates with Taking Shape, aligning our efforts to make a positive impact through the Star Leadership curriculum. As of now, this curriculum is embraced by over 10,000 children globally, including the aspiring dancers at Studio One.

The Taking Shape STAR Leadership program is a beacon for the youth of the next generation, providing a structured curriculum aimed at empowering young minds. Focused on fostering confidence, combating stress and anxiety, creating awareness, and instilling values such as resilience, gratitude, and servant leadership, this program goes beyond traditional education.

At Studio One Dance Center, our commitment to this collaboration takes a significant leap every holiday season. Our annual SODC Nutcracker production serves not only as a festive celebration but also as a meaningful avenue to contribute to the Taking Shape cause. All proceeds from this enchanting performance go towards supporting the LaPhare Orphanage.

Founded by Tracey Wozny, Taking Shape believes that every child in Haiti, regardless of their place of birth (here, near, and far), deserves the opportunity to realize their full potential. The mission is clear – provide underprivileged Haitian children with the tools they need to thrive and develop into strong leaders.

Taking Shape's Star Leadership Curriculum, a universal youth leadership program, is written through a servant leadership model. This aligns seamlessly with Studio One Dance Center's values of holistic development and character-building through dance.

Our collaboration extends beyond the stage, reaching into the heart of Haiti. Through Taking Shape and the Star Leadership Curriculum, we aim to transform the lives of children in need, making a significant impact on Haiti's future. The focus is not just on dance education but on providing essential tools for personal and leadership growth.

Studio One Dance Center, through our Haiti non-profit and Haitian orphanage initiatives, strives to contribute meaningfully to the lives of Haiti's children and the broader education system. By supporting the Taking Shape mission, we believe in creating lasting differences and shaping a brighter future for the young minds we touch.

Our collaboration with Taking Shape is not just about dance – it's about building leaders, fostering resilience, and contributing to a future where every child, regardless of their background, can reach their full potential. Studio One Dance Center is proud to dance with a purpose, making a lasting difference in the lives of the youth we have the privilege to inspire and nurture.
